I am the yearbook contact for New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania for Friesen Yearbooks.

With over 25 years experience working with yearbooks I bring a breadth and depth to my position that enables me to help my clients in a variety of ways. I have been on both sides of the proverbial desk, first as an English and journalism teacher with responsibilities for advising both the newspaper and yearbook. After moving to the other side of the desk, I have been involved in the yearbook industry both in the US and internationally. This unique perspective from both positions allows me to advise new advisors about the project management skills necessary and to help experienced advisors achieve the goals they have set for the project, create new and fresh ideas, or help problem solve issues when asked. My teaching skills and knowledge of yearbooks gives me the background to provide instruction and workshops in the classroom, in small groups, or in workshops.

I am excited to represent Friesens covering the state of Michigan from my office in Elk Rapids, near Traverse City.

As a former yearbook representative, book producer and newspaper editor I bring experience. Working as a photographer for his high school and college publications, I continued my career in journalism as a writer-photographer before becoming a yearbook representative and working with over 60 schools.  I then formed a book production company to assist authors and organizations successfully publish, helping to produce many local and regional history titles.Most recently, I accepted the opportunity to become editor of a new weekly newspaper, the Elk Rapids News.

Having been around printing and electronic publishing for many years, working as a book consultant is the ideal opportunity. Not only for me, but for all of the schools and organizations that will benefit from a highly regarded, technically advanced and service oriented book manufacturer.  Friesens focus on support is outstanding.  I look forward to sharing the “Friesens Advantage” with schools.
